Data Sheet

Background: The human serotonin receptor 5-HT4 is a G protein-coupled receptor. 5-HT4 receptors are located in striatal and limbic areas known to be involved in cognition and mood. 5-HT4 ligands may prove to be therapeutic in the treatment of disorders such as cardiac arrhythmias, irritable bowel syndrome and urinary incontinence. 5-HT4 receptor is also a promising target for the treatment of depression and cognitive disorders.

Application: Functional assays

Figure 1. Dose-dependent stimulation of intracellular cAMP accumulation upon treatment with ligand, measured with Multiscreen™ TR-FRET cAMP 1.0 No Wash Assay Kit (Multispan MSCM01).
