Motilin GPCR Family Subtypes and Products

General Family Information

The motilin receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that binds the endogenous ligand motilin. Motilin is involved in the stimulation of smooth muscle contraction within the gut. Research is also being done into the role of motilin receptors in the prokinetic effects of macrolide antibiotics.
