Background: Neuropeptide FF receptor 2 (NPFF2) belongs to the rhodopsin family of G protein-coupled receptors and found across the central nervous system. It is believed to regulate endogenous opioid systems in the brain and spinal cord. The neuropeptide is considered a prospective target to decrease negative effects of chronic opioid use.
