Data Sheet

Background: CCR5 (chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 5) is a receptor for C-C type chemokines MIP-1-α, MIP-1-ß and CCL5. CCR5 plays a role in the control of granulocytic lineage proliferation or differentiation. It also acts as co-receptor with CD4 for primary non-syncytium-inducing strains (macrophage-tropic) of HIV-1 virus.

Application: Functional assays

Figure 1. Dose-dependent stimulation of calcium flux upon treatment with ligand, measured with MultiscreenTM Calcium 1.0 No Wash Assay Kit (Multispan MSCA01).

Figure 2. Receptor expression on cell surface measured by flow cytometry (FACS) using an anti-FLAG antibody. Thin line: parental cells; thick line: receptor-expressing cells.
